Summer Camp

My two oldest kids are both 11 years old this year and I wanted to send them to summer camp this summer. We started looking into prices and quickly realized with 3 kids at home and another on the way summer camp was out of our price range. You'll imagine how thrilled I was to hear that The SITS Girls were giving away a free session  of summer camp to Catalina Island Camps . The giveaway is for one child and a friend so both my older kids could go together! I am entering to win a session of summer camp for a child at Catalina Island Camps from The SITS Girls!

The other neat part is that I have a lot of family in Southern California. My mom grew up in Palos Verdes and they had a sail boat growing up. They often sailed to Catalina Island. How neat would it be for my kids to go to summer camp the same place my mom played as a kid!

My two older kids would also love the independence. They would both be excited to fly alone to California and spend two weeks at summer camp without mom or dad. After browsing the website my kids would love all the activities. They love the beach, they love the water, and they love any outdoor activity. The activities highlighted on the Catalina Island Camps website are: skin diving (probably would be my daughter's favorite), kayaking, sailing, power boat activities, stand up paddleboards, target sports (would be my son's favorite), climbing, ropes course, challenge, gardening and composting, nature, outdoor cooking, photo journalism, arts and crafts, day trips, overnights, and Thursday morning adventure trips. All of those sound like so much fun.

I went to summer camp with church each summer in middle school and high school and had such a great time. I still have amazing memories of the fun times we had at camp. There is something about being away from home, having some independence, being surrounded by friends, and enjoying nature, that is so great for kids. I would feel so blessed if I won this giveaway and could give my kids this experience that they wouldn't otherwise have.

I've never been to summer camp but always wanted to. Maybe one day when my boys don't want to hang out with me in the summer, I'll work at one. Hope you win!
